Actually yellow, I was stationed in Hafir Al Batan Saudi Arabia before and after GW1. I had quite a bit to do with these filthy vermin. I saw their culture first hand and it made me like is even less. Heck I even got to kill a few of them.

Yep. Personally knew a saudi. Met some of his friends also. The guy was a real piece of work.I was in Turkey for a nato exercise many years ago and you can keep that "region" and its people as well. One friend of mine was stationed in turkey for a few years while in the USAF as security police. He hasn't much good to say about the muslims either.

no; I'd start from the biblical concept that we're in a fallen world, and the observation/rational concept that Americans and America have no lock on virtue... but that's a far cry from bigotry and contempt toward other peoples.

Any real experiance yellow? Or did you have a cultural sensativity class in college. I remember those silly classes in college. I thought they were pretty funny. I know alot of naive children in them took them word for word, I was a little more experianced in the world and had seen a bit more of the truth so I was the sceptic in those classes.

I remember one silly misguided young girl who had married a Saudi, she was in the class and spewing her silly lies about "islam and its tolerance" and how safge the muslim countries were. I brought up the question to her about, if she were is Saudi Arabia could she be instructing in this class? I also asked her if I could preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in this "tolerant" society. I also asked her if she knew what the Maadi was and how she would be treated for talking to unrelated males. She did not have much for answers on these topics so I filled in the class, when I asked her if anything I said was untrue about Saudi Arabia she confirmed that what I said was the truth.

That's yellowtail3 to you, Billy... what kind of experience are you asking about? Travel to mideastern regions? Pakistan, Bahrain, and Lebanon. Long, long time ago. Wouldn't tout it as experience, but it was interesting. Got robbed in Pakistan.

No, I've never taken a sensitivity class... don't recall there being any. I majored in History. Closest thing I've had to a sensitivity class... is reading & trying to act on the words of Jesus in the New Testament, on how we should treat people. That, and taking the Golden Rule seriously (Matthew 7:12, Luke 6:31)

Yep, know a bunch of 'em from various countries.  In general the women are nice - well spoken, well educated, intelligent, and thoroughly Americanized.  Most of the men were pretty well Americanized, but you could still see traces of the misogyny they were raised with.  All were from the upper class in the old country (or, their parents were anyway), and all very glad to be in the US and not the old country anymore.

Most also seemed to be good with pork ribs on the grill too. And did killer lamb and goat.

  You seem to be a "bitter clinger" (Bible & guns) as most here are. Thus, I presume you are studying the word with a Bible study or church group.
I hope I am wrong, but by your pronouncements you seem to be one of those types who believe God is all love..which is true..but He is also a JUST God. If he were not a God of justice, He could NOT be a God of love.
   Unless we have an opportunity to evangelize Muslims, we should only have polite relations with them.  He made that quite clear himself;
 " And whosoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them".
   (Like 9:5) .  
        Jesus also  said..  " I am the way, the truth and the life, noone comes to the father except through me". (John 14:6)
    Do your Muslim friends agree with you on those words of Jesus? If not, have you shaken the dust from your feet?  
  
    Jesus also tells us.."Go ye into all the world and preach the  gospel to every creature"  ...Fact is, that is the GREAT COMMISSION. Have you preached the gospel to your Muslim friend? Did he receive it and convert..or did you have to "shake the dust"?

I myself and a whole lot of others here would practice what is referred to as cultural diversity if the chance presented itself. Though I am notfluent in germen or Italian,I do speak a little of both and haved helped tourists in airports, Have even picked up products and parcels and held doors open for ladies from other cultures, yes even muslim.Thats just what you do. Its not about living to, or by the golden rule that most of us are talking about and way too much is being taken out of context here. We are talking about the the ones from any culture that would try to eliminate our culture. I'm guilty of blanket statements as well, but do not try to read what ISN"T there. Regards.

     Yes, sometimes Christians lie but when they do, they must admit they have sinned. I don't want to appear as a "holier than thou" person, because I have my own struggles with "the world, the flesh and the devil", but lying isn't one of them.

   I really don't like to be obstinate, but facts and doctrine are very obstinate things. Except one believe that Jesus was not only the Son of God, but also God the Son...he may as well forget the rest of the claims..he is lost.   As a matter of fact, I use that very immovable portion of Christian doctrine to check out any of the "new translations" of the Bible which appear and I tell my students the same. I tell them to pick up that new translation and turn to  (I Timothy 3:16).
     I Tim 3;16 says, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto trhe gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory".
  
  If that verse starts out, " Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: HE was manifest in the flesh... put that translation back on the shelf. When a translator uses "HE" in place of "GOD", that translator (IMO) is trying to please a broad spectrum of sects, cults and isms who prefer to reject the diety of Christ.
   He probably hopes studious Christians will overlook the gaffe..and he can sell more copies to more diverse groups...

If he outright claimed to be a god or son of god I would assume there were laws against it. Christ did not come to TELL everyone who he was, it is up to you to decide for yourself. The Jews thought he would actually go to war and then rule their kingdom on earth. Because of this some Jews still live by the old testament law. My X-wife was in the jewelry business for years.  The company was owned and operated by Muslims from Kuwait.  They were pretty nice guys and definitely knew how to throw a Christmas party, which they actually called the "Christmas Party," unlike my former Corporate American company.    I never noticed any bomb building materials and they treated my wife and I with dignity and respect.  We weren't "friends" as they didn't really have any non-Muslim "friends", but that's how most of the Southerners treated me too, being from Ohio and all. (I lived in South Carolina at the time.)

Jesus never personally referred to himslef as 'Son of God', but always as "Son of Man"...this is keeping with the islamic monthesism idea. Contrary to what PM and others would have you believe, Christ is mentioned 2nd to Mohammed in the qu'ran and in very good light I might add.

   Sure there were man-made laws against anyone claiming he was God..and that is why the pharisees were so angry with him and plotted to get him killed. Of course, when he was crucified they thought they had won, so did the devil...But then he rose again!!  He came to be a sacrifice and as a sheep (lamb of God) WAS willing was led to slaughter. I don't know what the Bible means to you..but it has hundreds of verses which refer to the diety of Jesus. I won't go to the trouble of typing up a plethora of the proving verses, since "doubting Thomases" are always cropping up.
