I've got a standard H&R rail on my 500S&W Handi with just a little less than 200 rounds thru it with no problems, but if you want the best rail made, one of the two steel Warne rails would be as good as it gets if you don't mind spending $30-$40 on it.

The problem with the weaver # 82 is there aren't a lot of slots cut in it, so unless you don't mind cutting new new slots it is not very accomdating.

I prefer the factory base.  The Weaver usually requires cutting extra slots.
