Chamber mates??
« on: September 01, 2010, 06:04:13 PM »
Anybody use any type of chamber mate system to shoot a different gauge shell in their guns?  Specifically interested in 12 ga in a 10 ga shotgun.  It would be neat to have one for Turkey hunting.  I'd like the heavier body of the 10 ga and the ability to tap it for a scope, but avoid the punishment of a 10 ga single shot.

Hi shotgunhunter,
I use Gauge Mate in 10 to 12 and 10 to 20 for my H&R turkey gun. Good for practice but still use 2 1/4 10 ga. for hunting.

How do the 12's pattern?  I've heard they do a great job, but I'm a little leary about trying it.

Shotgunhntr,

The 12 ga.seems to throw about the same per centage pattern, of course fewer pellets per load. can't understand why anyone would shoot a 6.5 lb. 12ga with 2 1/4 oz loads; my 9 lb. 10 ga. with the same load kicks enough.
