OT: Looking for Handis in Iowa
« on: September 03, 2010, 09:55:18 AM »
I have lots of time on my hands (broke left arm yesterday) and will be out looking for some handis in a couple of weeks.  Any one have any favorite gun shops in Iowa? I thought I would make a little vacation out of it once I get the doctor things satisfied. JamesIII

ain't we all lookin ;D I've done what you look to do several times several states. Boils down to what you can find in pawns mom and pops and anywhere else you can find a gun.You can put more miles on than the "Pickers" but it is fun just lookin .on the plus side you may be in the right weather and season for road trippin .GOOD LUCK Kurt

I can tell you it's "thin" in the SE corner. I looked for a used .223 all summer. I found a 7-08 at a little gunshop west of here someplace. In retrospect, probably should have bought that one. 2 .243s at Hardy's in Burlington.. Both had no-name scopes on them and he was higher than retail (3 - 3 and a quarter) on both of them. Cedar Rapids gun show had a .30-06, something big (.45-70?) and a handful of .17s.

I know - no help.. I bought a new one. Couldn't be happier with it. good luck.

Theyre kinda where you find them......when youre not looking they seem to pop up, so act like youre lookin' for somethin else....
