Are theses popups annoying? YES! But they have to pay the bills around here somehow, and hopefully the owners of this site get to put a little spending money in their pockets to boot because I'd be willing to bet that running a site like this goes beyond "labor of love" and just turns to labor.

The past few days weren't too bad, but several days in a row it was ridiculous. Over 1/2 the page would be covered, not even writing a letter was safe. I got disgusted and even tried logging out, that didn't help either. I'm glad most of that is gone. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

 I get to see one dashboard pop up a day, the one that comes up from the bottom, no videos or any other pop up,  download Ad-Aware Free, it's 127Mb, so it'll take a while to download if you don't have broadband, this is the latest version, takes a while to install for some reason, at least on both on my PCs.

Cmon guys there were several days, 9 -1, and 9 -2 that were horrible and was definitely more  than an occasional popup. I suspect there were more than him that just didn't bother saying goodbye. The past couple days haven't been bad at all, but those 2 days were ridiculous. Glad it's slowed up. Heading for church in a bit.  POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Were I a paying member I might complain but to complain about a free site, wich has and does have much to offer, is just a bit on the petty side of rediculous. The site was here before him and hey, it's still here now that he's gone. Imagine that.  :D

Became a GBO supporter yesterday. I really like the site and am glad to help out. Now I'd really like a way to disable the popups without downloading a pile of something into my computer.

You can try AdBlock Plus if you're using Firefox or one of the other min requirements.

I'll be a paying member by the end of the week hopefully;  however long it takes my check to get to Bill.   I understand the need for the popups and they don't bother me in the least.

Check out most of the MSM websites;  if you wanta see something there, esp a video, you gotta watch the 30 - 60 second commercial first.

And this site is FAR better!

I see the pop-ups several times every time I check the board.  The worst part is when you click on something even close to the pop-up and it sends you to the government owned Chevy site.  I understand the need but they are the worst I've ever seen on a legitimate website.

Why are all of you pi$$ing and moaning about the pop up they come on my computer I hit a x and go on about my biz don't you people realize that the bills have to be paid and all you are doing is complaining about the way the site is run I have yet gotten no more than 3 pop up while I have been on moderators if this is out of line please delete it  D Crockett

Personally, I HAVE listened to the adds. As a matter of fact, I regularly have been known to look at adds of sponsers.
I admit they are a it annoying after awhile---but so can the Hen be--after 48 years and she is still around-----more amazing,--- I am still around.

I X-out the dude; it's almost automatic now, hardly notice it...  :-\

On the other hand, I let Blondy Locks play out a bit.  Something about the way she looks at me and says "HI!" with that toothy smile gets me thinking all kinds of things!   :P   I love them skinny wimmins!   ;D
