Welcome to our board. I think you will find almost 100% agreement that shooting cannons is a great way to celebrate our freedom and honor all our country's veterans.

You will have to bring some of these guns up to Montana next August for the 2nd CCC.

I fixed you pictures so they can be seen.  When you copy code to post copy the BBCode.  Be sure you hit  enter before and after each line of code.

Tell us more about your guns.

Quaker4U,  that's quite a line-up, good looking cannons, all.  We are glad you posted a pic in the Calendar Contest.  You have reminded us that the deadline is drawing near!  Thanks for a really good first post with excellent photos.

Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!

You have found Shangri-la, Quaker4U, join in the fun. Those are some handsome pieces of artillery you've posted pics of.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

Nice mortars! Is it my imagination or is the BB mortar attempting to take flight in the second photo?

  Hi
To tell everyone about my cannon is to say I got interested in black powder
 in 1975
and cannon in 1980. I made my first one with a pipe machine-drill press-grinder-file-and welder.
The rest with as little machining as possible beings I don't have a lathe.
My bowling ball one is made out of grade 160 pipe with 1-1/4inch wall a length of 12 inches
with a 3-1/2 x 8.5/8 inch breach plug and a 3 inch trunnion welded in place a 2-1/4x1-1/2 deep chamber.
weighs in at 255lbs with the oak sled. a (max) 3oz of cannon grade one 16 lb ball will go 550 yd

Don't know if I did this right or not so please let me know thanks ;D

That's an interesting elevation mechanism on that last pictured cannon.
