Hammer extension tinkering...

Round hammer extension installed with the gap side up; edges of the side 'lips' seem to seat against the tapered shoulder on the front of the hammer just below the finger serrations.  I filed the radiused inner corners of the extension side lipss back to the flat part, and undercut some, to the angle of the tapered hammer shoulder.  It slid down almost 1/8" farther so I can shorten the hammer by that much additionally.  Isn't visible.  Just fyi...

That's all covered in the low profile hammer mods in the FAQs, lots of other options too as well as the ebay/Numrich hammer extension that's a ton lighter than the steel H&R extension.  ;)

While we're on this topic, I also have some questions. I have found several of the Win 94 extensions at a local gunsmith butcher shop. Long story, don't ask...... Anyways, does anyone else find them to be about 1/2" too short?  Are there any out there that are longer and more accessible? I seemed to have lost the info I had for the CVA extensions, but having one, found they're about the same length. I am interested in any screw type extensions as long as the thread is not so large that the hammer can't be drilled and tapped to hold it with enough meat remaining around the threads.

I've got several of the M94 extensions on rifles, they work great, but if you have a scope with a huge ocular bell mounted low, it may seem too short, mine are ~.560" long seated to the shoulder.

That's exactly my problem. A Bushnell Trophy scope has big bells.  ;D
