Kinda funny how I miss the culture and community of TFS.  I'll admit to being a bit disappointed in El Cajon right now.

FFG: Somebody posted up sommit about a feller what got hunged. 'E said he'd been readin a book that brought up info indicatin the feller may have been innocent. I mentioned the case of Lenoard Peltier and a book called "In The Spirit of Crazy Horse" 'n' the post waz gone in 5 minutes.

I always figgered 'Mericans took the issue of free speech seriously but this one case makes me wonder otherwise - seems the rest of the werld knows more 'bout the Peltier case than 'Mericans.

Seemed strange that that partikilar post disappeared so danged fast!

(Now, if this post disappears quick, I'll KNOW sommit fishy is goin on ;) )

CJ,

They took that post off?  It was about Tom Horn and your guy, Louis P(something), right..
What could be wrong with that topic?  I really don't get the moderating rules are there.. Makes you nuts.

Wal pard I shore don't see no reason why it needs to be jerked frum heah. But then I don't even know why it was there either. What I don't understand is why you folks only come over here to lament the passing of some other unfriendly site that can't stay on line why you have a friendly site here that stays up but ya only seem to post here when the others are down.

We allow you to post here even when those sites aren't down iffen ya wanna.    Yeah I know I didn't put on my Marshall badge before posting once again.

Frankly Marshall G,

You got yourself twisted around.
Some of us are missing The Frontier Spot, which is a friendly place and is down right now.  And I can tell you that no one there ever complained about posts refering to Graybeard's.

Now as to comments about the original TOB, well, you can't comment there, so sometimes they get brought to other places.  I'll make a note to not bring them here, where they seem to be unwelcome.

I can understand yer feelings Greybeard and Butler Ford. You know I like to post here there and everywhere, cuz  I am posting idjit.
I want to thank you once again for having this board and I have mentioned more than a few times I love yer layout. I like that I can zoom in on cowboy stuff and skip over things I don't know about or have interest in, like auto pistols. Shoot the closest I get to a auto pistol is dropping my single action on the hammer.  :)  That is why I appreciate this board and I hope in a small way that I can contribute with my often time silly posts.

Big Hext-
The Marshal didn't say any opinions were unwelcome. He seemed to be only commenting on the fact that there is more activity when other sites are down than there normally is here. I'm not the most creative writer and rarely respond to posts and almost never start posts.  I found it easier to post here than on other boards, but without more topics I have little to say.

Howdy SRC,

Of course more folks post when one of the major players is down.  Seems to me most of the folks posting here, on this thread, are not new posters to GBO, but I may be mistaken.

But to confuse TFS with SASSInc is just plain wrong.  In fact, I'll bet many of the CAS posters here found their way from TFS, cause the SASS Wire won't let you post about other forums.

And I don't want to make a big deal of it, I just think the owner of the site has an obligation to be accurate.

Hex ya sure misunderstood my comments.

I wasn't complaining and haven't ever asked you guys to not mention other places on here. The comment made about being unfriendly was in response to Calamity's post about her comments getting dumped at where ever it was she made them.

Everyone who wants to post here is welcome. Our rules are few and simple and it is a lot harder to get booted from here than in most places I reckon. Can be done but a pard has to work at it.

The comments were also partly because I've noted lotsa folks drop by, register and comment on how they liked the look and friendliness and planned to hang around but failed to return. Their business really not mine.

I've provided a friendly atmosphere here on a site that manages to stay up pretty much 100% of the time. Use it or not as ya feel appropriate. Recommend it or not as ya see fit. It can stand as much traffic as folks can dish out. But it is here for those who want to use it even if no one else shows up.

Fer shore ya don't get canned here just because ya mention someone who isn't an advertiser like somewhere folks post. I honestly don't keep up on such places as I don't even have time to visit all of my own forums daily. Some haven't seen me on them in months.

But as I said from the sound of your comments you grossly misread what I said.

Geez Marshal, I didn't mean to offend ya    I like it here jist fine.

Can't speak fer other folks but meown problem is that thar's jist SO many towns ta visit 'n' so little time. I try ta drop in regular but I do tend ta hang out in crowds 'n' ya gotta admit SASS Inc had the most active board fer a long time. When the horse puckie hit the fan thar, some of them what got the boot went to a different town 'n' the rest of us followed.

T'ain't nuthin personal 'n' ain't nuthin wrong with GB's.

Thanks fer offerin a refuge fer us wanderers

This is a good place, it's one I check on regularly and it has a few features that can be found no other place.

Pards,

I'm a relative newcomer to Graybeards. But I find I'm beginning to spend more time than anywhere else! I guess what I find attractive about the place is that there are places to ask questions about most any aspect of the shooting & hunting sports....and get answers from folks who have wealth of experiance!  I mean look at alla the specific topics The Marshal has fer ya to swim around in: http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/phpbb2/index.php If ya cain't find it here, it ain't worth findin'!

'Nuther plus to this here place is "Moderator Participation"! The Marshal is the one Moderator I've run acrost that really gits involved in exchanges on his board, I LIKE that! And he listens to us and is willing to give new things a chance. Sort of like this CAS area we got here....I think it was ButlerFord who asked the Marshal to consider opening this section, and he gave it a chance. Then Both Butler 'n I badgered him a bit fer a place fer us Darksiders...and he was willing to cut us a lil' notch fer that too!...Next thing Ah know the Marshal is acquiring CAS guns hisownself and jumpin in with with his spurs on to try this game out! 8)

Now, Big Hext commented on missing the "culture and community" of TFS and I understand that perfectly, although I freely admit that very thing was beginning to become a bit tiring to me so I wasn't spending much time there anymore. But that's what I like about this place...it's got it's own "culture and community" and I find it more to my tastes. :-D

So, welcome to you newcomers, light 'n set a while. This range is a bit different that any other 'n yer prolly gonna find you like it too if ya stick around a while.

And Marshal...'s been a while since I've taken the time ta mention to ya how much I appreciate yer efforts around here....Thanx agin pard!  :D

Cuts, you hit the nail on the head pard. Greybeards Outdoors has a wealth of experienced shooters, casters, and shooters of all types of weaponry. I learned enough from this board to get into casting and every single question I had was answered well enough that I can cast my own bullets and they turn out great. I owe that all to this board. I never get smart alecky answers from the pards here either. I have agreed on everything except maybe the Ford vs Chevy debate. hahahhaahhaa.
Thanks to Greybeard for having such a great bunch of forums for us to visit.
