I guess I'm "into" lever guns now...
« on: September 07, 2010, 05:36:14 AM »
Years ago I bought an 1895 SS from a co-worker.  Then finally about 3-4 years ago I bought an 1895 CB (still unfired).  A couple months ago I bought a Henry Golden Boy.  This weekend I traded into a 1894 .357 Mag.  Now that I've got four lever guns I guess I'm officially "into" lever guns... can't wait to shoot them all.

Well, honestly, the 1895 SS has been hunted and blooded.  The 1895 CB was bought while I was home on leave.  I was in the process of doing some mandatory shotgun shooting at the time and didn't have time to shoot it.  Then I went back to Germany for 2 more years and it sat in the US in my safe.  I bought the Henry about two months ago from my SiL to finance a divorce.  Been moving and travelling since then and haven't had time to get to a range.  The 1894 was traded for this weekend.  I traded a Browning A-bolt off for the Marlin.  I hadn't shot the Browning either.  It was part of the deal with the SiL.  I live on a AF base and there isn't a range here anymore.  I just haven't had time or place since we moved back stateside.  I'm gonna remedy part of that next pay day though.  I'll get the Henry and the 1894 out to shoot somewhere...  the 1895 CB will be a while yet.  I haven't moved my safe from my in-laws to San Antonio yet so about 2/3rds of my guns are still there.  I also have Garand that I haven't shot, two G2 carbine barrels that I haven't shot, 2 .357's that have about 20 rounds each through them.  My daughter has a Beretta 390 that she hasn't shot and a Beretta 686 that she has only shot one box through.  Needless to say, we have some work ahead of us just break in a few guns.

It is kind of weird to have a bunch of guns that I've never shot though...  truth be told I'll probably buy one or two more before I get all these broken in!  I did sit and work the action on the 1894 last night about 200 times.  Drove my wife nuts...

Naw, you're not even starting into lever guns until you have eight to ten of them... When you get to twenty, you're safely into the levergun lover territory...  ;D
