factory crimp repair

my .308 win lee factory crimp die started making a clicking noise and working funny last time i used it. when i took it out of the press and pulled on the part that slides up it came apart. i pushed it back together but is it ruined?

Call Lee and let them know and see if you can exchange it. When I had a problem with one of my Lee dies, I called them, explained the problem and they replaced the part at no charge & no questions asked, other than what my address was. They advertise a two year warranty, but they never even asked how old my dies were.

No.  It's fine.  Use it.

That collet insert is supposed to be able to come out for cleaning and lubrication. It is not broke unless the small "C" ring/spring that fits on the top is missing

If this is still in one piece as shown, you are good to go. The C-spring is not shown in the picture.
