H&R Thumbhole Stock and adding weight
« on: September 10, 2010, 11:55:49 AM »
Hi All,

Anybody modify the buttend of an H&R Camo Lam. TH stock to add weight or a recoil reducer?  I just put one on a shorty 45/70 and love the way it shoots.  However, once the loads get above 1/2 way in the "lever gun" range gun starts to buck a bit.  Short eye relief Weaver 1x3x20 doesn't help either.  I miss all the #4 shot I put into the stock bolt channel on the pallet wood stock.  For the time being I am putting a slipon limbsaver on over the stock recoil pad when I shoot the stout loads.

thanks

BB

Why be difficult, when with a little extra effort you can be impossible?

You can bore a hole and fill with lead.
