I will never forget 9/11
« on: September 10, 2010, 08:39:57 PM »
I guess there are events in ones life that will never be forgoten. Just to name a few. The first girl I kissed, first real job, meeting my wife, birth of my daughter and 9/11. I was working here in Scottdale Pa on 9/11 I did not live here then I was just building a house here. Well anyways the job had no power so we had to use a generator to run our power tools. That means you can not hear the radio that we played normally so we did not plug it in that day. I ended up needing to use the bathroom so I headed down to Mc Donalds to take care of business. On the way there I hear that a plane had crashed into one of the World Trade Center Towers. I did not think much about it as I headed into the resturant in a hurry. I just figured it must have been a small plane and it was an accident. When I came out I heard on the radio that a second plane had hit the other tower. I knew then this was not an accident. I rushed back to the job site to tell everyone what was going on. We listened on my truck radio for 20 or 30 minutes. We then packed up everything and went to the boss's house to watch events unfold on TV. I think of this day many many times a year and get tears in my eyes every time I do. I think every American should watch footage from that day at least a few times a year. I try not to hate anyone but I have to say that I really dislike the Muslim religion and the people that follow it. There is a church that is going to burn some Korans today. I say toss in a couple Muslims to go along with their good book. So I remember what I was doing that day like it was yesterday. Tell me what you were doing. Thanks and take care Dale

I watched it all from home. I watched tv all day and watched in horror as the 2nd plane hit. A friend of mine was there and had just stepped out of the first tower when he looked up and saw the 1st plane hit, God was with him for sure. He also saw the 2nd plane hit. He said everything was covered in ashes and he dumped pills out of a btl and scooped ashes from the roof of a car to keep as a memento. In the days to come I watched everything I could. I'll Never forget the workers walking around with buckets picking up body parts, or forget those Americans plunging to their deaths to keep from being burned alive. A lot of brave police and firefighters were also murdered that day. In the weeks to come I'm sure the stench of burned or rotting flesh had to have been awful.
All done by a group of Godless, subhuman sobs screaming allah akhbar as they murdered 3,000 innocent Americans and sent themselves to hell. Islam is a fast growing cancer and should be treated as such. Now the Godless ones will build a monument to their great victory over America, and some of you have no problem with that. I do. Today I'll draw a pic of mohamed and write islam and koran on some toilet paper and burn it as my own little protest to these Godless sobs, after I blow my nose on it. YES, I'll always remember that day. POWDERMAN.  :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I remember watching it on the tube as I was eating breakfast before heading to work.  I also remember how odd it was on a clear sunny day that there were absolutely no con-trails in the sky.

Everyone was waiting for the next shoe to drop--surely there would be more attacks.  Thankfully, there weren't, but I remembered thinking how happy I was to not be living in a place like New York city, or D.C., or anywhere else that could be considered a prime target.

Was a couple miles away from the towers, watched it all on tv and called friends all day. Lost a couple at Cantor and Marsh including one on their first day of work. The first call I had that day was from a friend describing stuff falling and him thinking out loud they might be people. Started a lifetime of volunteer work on my part. The first attack around 93 I was in a window office across the street daydreaming and staring at the towers when the bomb went off. New Yorkers are the bravest that is for sure.

Same here, and thats sad, how soon they forget. Part of the plan, news media downplaying it too. Can't show any pics or say anything bad about that day, might offend the Godless ones. I can only imagine the screams of the dying and the sheer terror of knowing they would die a horrible death. My wife is going to draw a pic of mohamed with fangs and horns coming out of the top of his head like his ruler satan, all on toilet paper, I believe that is appropriate.  I told her to use plenty of red to symbolize the blood of millions of innocents shed by his cult followers over the years. I was just brushing my teeth and listening to the news on the radio that an aircraft, type unknown, had hit one of the buildings. Went out front and turned on the TV, expecting to see something like a Cessna had somehow flown into it, resulting in some damage, a few deaths. Seeing the images of the huge fire and smoke plume was sickening. I was almost to work when word of the first collapse came over the radio.

And when I heard that the President had left the school he was visiting and was going to be flying I thought “Oh, crap! They know where he is, they flushed him into the air like a pheasant, and they have people waiting to shoot down Air Force One.” Felt sick all day, so did everyone else at work. that day? The rest of the week. And lots of speculation about what else would be hit. Maybe the Sears Building in Chicago? California Plaza in Los Angeles? TransAmerica building in San Francisco? Maybe the Golden Gate Bridge?

What was really strange was not seeing or hearing ANY aircraft for a few days. Then hearing a pair of fighters – northbound over Santa Rosa, Ca.

And of course, there were those who celebrated:

I was up early this morning as I was on that other 9/11.  That morning I flick on the TV and went out for the paper boxs.  I could not believe what I was seeing on the TV when I returned.  I just stood there and stared.  When I heard my wife getting up I told her that she needed to see the TV.

This morning I did not turn on the TV.  I took the United States of America flag out and put it in it's holder, thinking about the other 9/11.  I fitched the papers and the TV has not been on today.  I have soured on the current leadership, and the fact that many Americans do not believe we are at war.

I took it outside blew my nose on it, and burned it, I feel better now. Try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I was lucky that day. I was working uptown in NYC in the 50's. I remember taking the ferry across the Hudson and people just staring no one saying a word. I remember the fighter jets sweeping low over the city. I remember the cummuter lot and the cars which remained parked there for days and their owners would never pick them up. I recall days later people walking around the city holding pictures of missing people or posted in the subway, pictures of their loved ones who never came home. I find it too painful to watch films showing the day.

I remember Grand Central station. For months there were photos, poems, posters of the missing that became a tribute. I was in London staying a hotel next to the Marble Arch for a couple days before and after Di' funeral. Honestly that blew away the 9/11 tributes, but it did not last that long. I did not think there were that many flowers in England. The next day after the funeral, everything was normal again.  Just came from a gun show ain NY. 1000 Folks in a room for hours. NOTHING. Lots of talk about Obama though.

I won't forget 9/11 either; it was my daughter's first birthday, and I was stranded in Grand Rapids. I'd flown in the night before to deliver a class, which was cancelled... and was lounging the hotel when it hit. I was so, SO glad I'd rented a car; I had to drive back to NC.

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

I was just stopping at a stop light on Madison avenue in Mankato Minnesota when Tom Bernard anounced on the KQ92 morning show that " an airplane just crashed into the world trade center and to him it did not look like an accident."

I was convinced that we were about to go into nuclear holocaust.  It absolutely terrorized me, not that I thought that I was going to die, but that millions of others would.  I knew instinctively that Bin Laden was behind it, and knowing Bush's temperament, that a nuclear exchange was inevitable.  I really hand it to our government leaders that they exercised such restraint.  Afghanistan and Iraq are nothing compared to what could have been.
We rarely think people have good sense unless they agree with us.
