This is the most clearly stated, sensible, and historically accurate statement that I've read on this issue (and I've read a lot of them). I'm  not wild about Newt but sometimes he hits the nail dead on the head.

Historically accurate? Not really, the Caliphate of Cordoba conquered not Christians, but several already Islamic fiefdoms in Andalusia (a region of Spain) providing a politically stable region, a safe haven for various religious leaders and preserving various cultural and Christian artifacts while Europe slipped into the dark ages.

Oh, and there are Christian churches in Saudi-Arabia, I have been to one.

  When the Christians kicked the Muslims out, it was again put into it's intended use. The fact that the Ishmaelites were feuding among themselves in Spain, is nothing new. God told us in Genesis that the Ishmaelites would be fighting everybody, including each other.

I was thinking of the Islamic rule of region rather then the Church as being the subject of discussion. If I was mistaken I stand corrected.
The company I used to work for send me to Saudi Arabia for a few projects and while there I attended mass in a church in an expatriate enclave.

  The news is leaking out..and perhaps the cracks are starting to appear within the Islamic nations themselves, Some of the Muslims are getting sick of the violent nature and ready bloodshedding of their culture. Real men and women are starting to fight back as shown by this cell p[hone video of a stoning to death of a 17 yr old girl, Dua Khalil. According to CNN she was 'accused' of wrong doing and her own family helped in her killing. The video was provided to a German TV outlet;

  Some killings we rarely even hear of..but some people have the courage to make films depicting such brutality. A film maker and some courageous women who don't like being treated like fleas.
   Notice in the Canadian "honor killing" the old boy suspects his daughter needs killing..so he wipes oiut 3 of his girls plus their friend.
