I used to work with a woman from the Ivory Coast. Where they cut off the clitoris at puberty. She told me that she was looking forward to it, that it was like getting a period, a passage into adulthood, all her sisters did it, it was her turn next. They moved, she did not do it, she became sexually active, and was thrilled that she did not do it. Anyway my point is, different culture, you have no idea what they want or don't want. You think you do, but you don't. In college, some girls wore floor length veils. It did not seem to restrain them. But how much could I really know.
Jews and just about all of the US practice circumcision, which I think we would agree, costs a man more than a veil has ever cost a woman.
Which brings to mind a joke.
Black kid comes home with $200. His grandma asks if he stole it. He sez no he won it. Grandma asks how. The bar in the white neighborhood was having a biggest (censored word) contest. Grandma looks at him, sez you were not raised to do that, you did not take it out did you? He sez sheepishly, only enough to win grandma.
