Dakota 10
« on: September 14, 2010, 12:08:46 PM »
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this GPS?? I know it is entry level BUT I do not need all the bells and whistles--I will be only using it for hunting in unfamiliar areas.
Any input is appreciated!!
Cabela's has them for $199 this week and they are usually $299 so it caught my eye.
Thanks

I have not had my hands on a Dakota series gps.  I just did a price check and you are looking at the best price.

You can check out the manual here.

You should be able to do a lot with the Dakota 10 including loading Topo software.  I got by on a base map for a year or so and then expanded.
There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!

I had my hands on one for a while and found it easy to use due to the touch screen.  A great unit at that price!
