I have a vintage 2003 Ruger GP-100, the original factory grip with the rosewood insert has been ok, thought I would try something more hand filling. I am 6', 1" and had read awhile ago that the Ruger Super Redhawk grips could be used for the GP 100. Figured with the bigger gun, bigger grips.
Ordered the grips from Ruger, got it yesterday, and it is made for a small person, perhaps more in line of "child size". I know that gun companies are trying to come out with smaller grips for smaller people (like women), but a Super Redhawk is not for young kids, that is a big powerful gun.
The selection of aftermarket grips is staggering, and without a way to actually feel what they are like in the hand, it could get expensive to keep ordering and sending them back, like I plan to do with the Ruger version. Anyone have large hands and have had success with a wood or rubber type or brand that they could recommend for a GP 100 or Super Redhawk?
Thanks.
