What do you guys have to say about this combination gun?  I have an opportunity to get one at an attractive price in 12 ga./.30-06.  I like it because of its weight, but am not sure about the double trigger, especially when wearing gloves.  I have several Savage 24's ranging from .22/.410 to .30-30/20 ga.

I've looked at them also.  Not sure it would do much more for you than the 30-30 / 20 gauge.  I have one of those also.  Larry

  Well, it's a step up from the Savage, but it can still be hit or miss, as to bbl. regulation.

I had a Baikal 12/30-06 which was fantastic.  But then I purchased a Spartan 12/.223 which was a POS.  Because of the negative experience with the Spartan (which is a Baikal labeled by Remington)  I sold the Baikal and went with the Valmet.

I have not looked back.  But the Baikal did have the screw in chokes which I had the rifled choke and the turkey choke.

I agree with Drilling Man on the barrel regulation.  I have not owned a Savage so i can not comment on that gun.

My suggestion is to fire a slug and 165 gr as my Baikal was regulated for the 165 gr 30-06 and see how the regulation is on the shotgun and rifle.

Also, does the gun come with a scope or scope mount.

I Have one of the Baikal IZH-94s in 30-06/12 ga and love it.  I had one of the Spartan IZH-94s in 223/12ga and like DougK says, they are a POS.  I find my 30-06 Makes cloverleafs with 110 gr reloads for coyotes and the POA matches the POI with the 12 ga w/#4 buckshot at 50 yards.  I have a special Kicks choke in it.  I have a Nikon 3 to 9 Muzzleloader scope on it for the eye relief.  It was hard to find a mount to fit the 11 MM scope rail.  Only downside is, it's heavy.  So if you still have the chance to get it, go for it.

I used a 11MM dovetail scope mount, that was made for airguns.  The mount never lost
