In my conversations with Remington's shop people in Illion, NY they indicated that they can fit any accessory rifle barrel to any SB2 receiver as long as you send in the receiver and forend.  I bought two barrels for my .223 Handi last year: a .22 Hornet and a .357 Magnum.  All fit and function perfectly.

Accessory barrel info can be found on H&R's website, acc barrels can be fitted to frames made 1987 and later, there are restrictions on frames made prior to 1999 also, that's all spelled out in the build year info in the FAQs sticky above as Airsporter suggested.

I prefer dedicated forearms anyway, so I would send the receiver and have them fit barrel and forearm for it there.

The accessory barrel program is alive and well.......................do they have any barrels.....................that seems to be the question.

I called today and talked with CS. To begin, I mentioned that I thought the barrel program had been suspended for a time (not sure where I came up with that). Was informed that it was never put on hold; they just don't have many barrels. Asked about both 270 and 30/30 barrels and was informed that it would be "a few" weeks until they would be available again. Let's hope it's soon.
