720 grain ranger rick bullets in 45/70
« on: September 16, 2010, 04:08:26 AM »
Hey guys and gals does anyone even know about a starting load using this cruise missle in a 45/70 handi rifle.  I know its not practical but just wondering i would probably order his 550 grain bullets if i wanted recoil and a heavy slug just wondering if anyone has tried these things.  Thanks for your time.

P. S I wonder if the target gets a shadow come over it like an artillery shell and a whistle before it lands.   ;D

They won't stabilize very well in the 1:20" twist, Tyler shot some in his 45-120 BC at 1750fps, I doubt you can get enough powder in the 45-70 to get even close to that velocity at any safe pressure.

You could attach stabilizing fins on that piece of lead. ::)
