Review of Helmick Arms Classic Laminate stock
« on: September 16, 2010, 03:26:30 PM »
Over the last month I have had the pleasure of testing the helmick arms classic laminate stock in the gray and black pattern.  Upon recieving the stock the first thing I noticed was the quality of work put in to building this stock. It was very nicely done and I couldnt wait to put it on my rifle.

When installing the stock I was impressed because it was inlet perfectly and needed no additional work. The second thing that impressed me was how great it made my tikka look! It looked much classier than the plastic factory stock with my home paint job. Here are some pictures.

Once I had it all set up I took it out to the range. It shot the sub inch groups with handloads as always. One place the stock especially shone was in recoil reduction! This rifle is a 270 wsm with stout handloads and normally can be pretty  hard on the shoulder especially off the bench. Not with this stock. This stock is a good deal heavier than the factory tikka stock but thats the trade off with laminate. The shape of the stock was a nice classic design which pointed easily when shooting off hand and balanced nicely.

Overall I think this is an excellent product and Chad over at Helmick arms has done a terrific job!
