I have several tatoos and peircings, three in the left ear, one in the left eyebrow and a labret (lower lip center). As was said here before I started when they were not as common as now. They just seemed to go with my lifestyle, biker, bass player in a metal band. I didn't get carried away with them though, just kind of an accent thing and all my tatoos are within clothing areas so I can roll up the sleeves of a dress shirt and they are not seen. No forearms, neck or facial tatoos.

I may be different for a tatooed person but I don't think women should have them. It's a class thing for me and just my opinion. I like women to have a certain degree of class and tatoos as well as a "sailor" mouth are a definite turn off for me.

My kids will not have them at a young age either. My son is thinking of joining the military after high school and being an adult he can do whatever he wants. As for my daughter, I'm really trying to drill my above thoughts into her but again after 18 ( I'll try to push it until after college if I can) she can do as she wishes as well.

 Guess i wouldn't be welcome at your house either. I have four tatoos and one piercing. I am not real fond of the nose piercing either but if that is your thing go for it.

My best friend TANK died April 14th. He was covered with tats and had earrings. I teased him that he'd make somebody a good wife someday. He was badly burned many years ago right here at my house helping me with a tractor. He had no skin or hair from the waist up. I believe that he did the tats to cover up what he considered to be ugly. He never said it but he never had a tat before he was burned. I still miss him, tats and all. This thread brought it all back. POWDERMAN.

i guess i am just glad i have not passed up on the flavor of life that so many of you have.   i like flavor, and i like everyone being different.   imagine a world full of beerbelly clones.....somehow, someway they would find a reason to hate themselves.    no sir, i will take variety, "the spice of life" anyday.   the rest of you enjoy your bland existance; you are passing by some very good people........which might be why some people get tattoos and such....to weed out the shallow people out there.   evidently it works.

I never could understand why anybody would intentionally put tacks, studs, wires, rings, etc, in their face, or pins in their tongue. The only people that like that crap is other folks that look just like them. Not sure which looks more ignorant, hard to choose just one. Rings in the lips, eyebrows, a tack in the lower lip or chin, or a stud in the tongue. I went into a gas station  a few years ago and this punk turned around wearing a dog collar and rings in his lips, ears, eyebrows, cheeks, and a tongue stud. He said, can I help you, I turned around and walked out the door as I said, hell no. I see that crap and then they complain they can't find a job. DUUUUUUUHHHHH. POWDERMAN.

If I find a food server so bedecked I am not going back.  Main-stream eateries (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, TGIFridays, Outback, Long Horn's, Chilis, et al) seem to hire "cleaner cut" types and that satisfies me.  Of course, I am sure quite a few have tats, and I am OK with that, just not "staring out at me" when they put a plate of calamari on the table for me to eat.
