Not exactly what I had in mind on this whitetail hunt, but this squirrel was just starting to go into his alarming the woods.  I was bowhunting with my recurve on this day.

Here is a clean one

Lol, Cottonwood that reminds me of a few years ago. I had just got into my stand when a red squirrel started in, this was when I shot a long bow, I had a target tip on an arrow so I shot the squirrel. He was flopping on the ground trying to get the arrow out, finally I decided I needed to put an end to the noise and his suffering, I was using a climber, I climbed down and started towards him, as i approached he ran up a tree with my arrow!!! I then climbed back up the tree I was in and a few minutes later the squirrel came back down and started trying to shake the arrow free again, after another few minutes of this I climbed back down, this time the squirrel shook the arrow loose and ran up a tree.

Needless to say I didn't see any deer that day!!!!

I wouldn't normally shoot this small of a buck this early, but with my buddy along in the deer stand I had to do it.
Double lung shot at 33 yards at sunset.

Here is my first traditional hunt whitetail buck, that we call "The Icer Breaker Buck" taken on Oct 30th during our general season (rifle) where we can still bowhunt, but have to wear the blaze orange even bowhunting.  This little guy came in on a grunt tube call, and the yardage was real close.
