Striker and lifter required for AL series huntsman??

Loaned my huntsman out, came back in pieces(not destroyed just taken apart) huntsman 58 cal ser# AL318***.
Barrel catch is missing and barrel catch spring, when looking at gun-parts they show a striker and lifter assembly i don't remember ever seeing this on my weapon is it required for this model?? any comments appreciated.

Older H&R Inc firearms didn't have a transfer bar(lifter/striker).

I have to know why someone disassembled your receiver.  You didn't loan it out to your ex-wife did you?  ;D Just kidding about the ex, but curious why your gun became a basket case.

Well loaned to FF who loaned to his brother apparently lost, the load data i sent with him, somehow he thought the way to load was twice the cal, 116 grains the breech plug backed up and they couldn't unlock it so they drove the pins out, they said the barrel catch and spring got lost at camp, check the reciever face no evidence of the plug backing out and it was still in the barrel. gun is still tight, oh by the way he dislocated his shoulder and got a trip to ER for his stupidity. just glad no one got killed

I just checked my Huntsman and it's AR vintage and it has a transfer bar.  Quick is probably right, 5 years earlier, no transfer bar.  You should be able to fit shotgun parts to it.  I would be interested if you decide to part it out. There great old guns.  Another idea is to check out a pawn shop or gun dealers around you.  Often the used shotguns go for less than $50.  Use that receiver but upgrade to the 209 primer to fit the shotgun firing pin.  Lots of options to preserve a fine gun worth keeping.  Huntsman barrel lugs are narrower than a shotguns and will fit the shotgun frames but not vice versa, without milling.  Good luck with what ever solution you choose.

FWIW, I've installed old pre-transfer bar hammers on modern frames with no transfer bar, the older hammers had a half cock notch, whether the reverse would work, I don't know, but if it doesn't have a half cock notch on the hammer, it probably had a transfer bar.

gun is all back together,just bought a musket nipple for it,found a ramrod,only thing iam missing is the forend barrelband. anybody ever try to make one out of brass?
