Cannon calendar deadline change, Now October 1

Because the snow today in Montana was reported in the Drudge report, I am declaring a snow day moving the deadline for posting pictures for the calendar contest to October 1.  

Remember to enter a picture it must be posted form a photo hosting site.  If you post as an attachment the post will be deleted without comment. If your post is deleted you can always repost from a photo host site.

It just keeps getting pushed back, doesn't it!  Hopefully there will be a lot of additional submissions!  18 so far!

I may change the collage.  I can't figure out which software I used.

Picasa!!!! Well I won't be using that software!!!  Picasa is loaded with spyware and adware.

I check some of the other software I have.

Looking at the demonstration you did made me think of a mosaic, so I found this mosaic creator and tried it:



I like the collages you did.  Perhaps something simple like "GBO CANNON 2011" text created with a mosic or collage on a plain black or white baclground would look good, too.  I can try it if you like. (Never mind, I tried it before posting this.  It's far too busy.  Below is an example of it, and a version of the same image in reverse, and the plain text definitely works better than the filled.)

I was playing with the one in the link of my earlier post (http://www.aolej.com/mosaic).  After using that, I took the resultant images into Photoshop for the text (still only using PS6.0, but it does the job).  Considering the purpose of the cover (using the remaining images), I don't think a mosaic image would work as they work best when using as many images as possible, but you may enjoy playing around with that program (these are my first attempts with it, and it seems decent, though I was having trouble getting it to mask the text properly, so I took the second and third images back into PS and filled the text and the background using layers).
