Check out the latest group from my 700
« on: September 18, 2010, 07:53:10 AM »
This is my bread and butter hunting rifle.
Its a stainless 700 sps sporter.308 win in an H.S Precision stock with a timiney trigger.
The load is my pet hunting load.  165grain Remington Core Lokt over 45 grains of Varget CCI LR primer

This is a five shot group at 100 yards off sandbags.  I zoomed it as best i could.  Just under .75 MOA.  The one fly if you can even call it that was my fifth shot and i pulled it!

Very nice. I had my 700 out last week for the first time in years. I was impressed all over again. I am taking it to the local gun club range for the annual deer rifle competition. What cartridge is yours chambered in?

Good shooting!! I just wonder if you meant 44 grains of Varget.

Very nice group. My 700 VLS will do that with 155 grain Amaxes & varget. And almost as good with factory 150 grain corlocts.
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting

I shot this 3 shot group today at 100 yards with my Remington 700 SPS Varmint in the 22-250. The orange target measures 1 inch.

While I was out at the 100 yard back stop I stapled a penny I had in my pocket to it and here are the results.

That is a very nice group you shot. These SPS Varmints are sure shooters if you do your part. I have shot many one hole groups with this rifle and would think you will do the same if you do your part. Good shooting and take care Dale

Wow great shooting!  My sps .308 is just a sporter as its my big game rifle.  I have a heavy barreled .22-250 that is a varmint special if your remember those.  Matte bluing like a cdl and an hs precision stock.  It shoots great...ill post some groups with it later on.  What type of powder are you using in that .223?

It is a 22-250. It loves 55 grain bullets and Varget. I shoot one hole groups with it pretty often. As a matter of fact I am putting it up for sale or trade here in a few minutes here on GBO. I want a 308 caliber in a bad way. Thanks and take care Dale

Them 700s can shoot.  I really like Varget.
