Just bought my new Encore in 243. Was wondering if TC made a reloading manual for it. If not, where do you guys get your load data for the Encore?

I just use the rifle info and go from there. Usually a powder with the max rifle velocity will give you the best out of a pistol. But there is some pistol info in the 5th edition hornady manual for the 243.

yep, rifle data will work. there is still good handgun loads listed in some manuals. the hodgdon annual manual(magazine form, and inexpensive) has handgun data.

Lyman's 48th edition

I was just looking at Lyman's 48th edition today in the story. The cost was less than twenty dollars. It appears to be a well put together book. They listed all of the current T/C Encore barrels, and there test where preformed in Encore's. They further highlighted the most accourate loads found. I currently have Hornady's 5th edition but if I buy another reloading manual it will be Lyman's 48th edition. Also there is a T/C Contender manual out there, but I don't know if they list Encore loads. Buy the Lyman's and let me know how it is

Try the Sierra loading manuel. The list Encore 15" loading data for every 6mm/243 bullet they make.
For the 100 grain bullet:
Accuracy Load: H4895/ 35.0grs. 2600fps/ 1501ft. lbs.
Hunting Load: H4895/ 35.8grs. 2650fps/ 1559ft. lbs.
I think you should stick with faster powders in the short barrel so as to burn most of the powder in the barrel. I have a 26" custom shop .243 barrel for Encore and it is a dream to shoot and deadly accurage.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought you'd probably use rifle data, but you can't be too careful with this stuff. I already have the Lyman manual, just haven't looked it over enough.
