Reloading is a hobby in and of itself. I buy cast for 30-30 and can shoot for these days at about 15 cents a shot (2 cents primer, 3 cents powder, 2 cents prorated used brass, 8 cents bullet). Of course I probably have spent $500 on equipment getting to that point. When my wife is watching some silly TV show, I can grab the Lee Hand Press, sit at any table, and turn out 40 rounds before the half hour sitcom is finished. That is a fair amount of shooting in a Handi. I do the same with a Hornet, but because Hornet cases are more expensive/delicate, and I can't buy cast, a Hornet costs a bit more to reload. My 2 favorite rounds in a Handi though. 45-70 is a distant 3rd, and I love the 45-70.
