Do all of the 460 Encore barrel shoot like crap???????????

I wanted to replace my .357 max. barrel with one that would shoot alittle flatter, so I bought a 460 S&W. I have taken a deer at 175 yrds. with the 357, can`t hit a barn door with the 460 at that range. Got a friend that had one and said he could not get his to shoot 460`s eather. He said it did ok with 45 Colt and 454, but I already have good shooting guns in both of those cals. Has anyone got a good shooting 460? What loads are you useing?

I traded my 460 barrel to another member, but mine was shooting 1.0” groups @ 50yds, about as good as any large caliber pistol I have ever owned. I had a rather unusual load:

Way too much recoil for this old man. I love shooting my .44 mag's, but this baby will train you to flinch in no time!

That's a 1.5 inch 200 yard group I got with mine.  My longest shot while hunting was a 180 yard shot that took a Klipspringer.  I did, however, have to work harder to get this cartridge to shoot well than anything other cartridge  I've loaded for.

My avatar is a 13 inch 460 Mag. I can't say how 460's do in it as I already loaded 45 LC's and 454 Casulls and just didn't see the need for another 45 caliber loading. I figured if a 454 couldn't kill it I needed to break out one of my 500 S&W mags or leave it alone. On accuracy both the 45 LC's, which are loaded hot to TC, Ruger, Freedom Arms specs, and the 454's will easily do a 2 inch group at 100 yards with my wobbly self at the trigger.

TC barrels have a forcing cone that I dont like. Other barrel make a regular chamber and shoot lights out compared to the TC's I have tried

Thanks for the help. I have 4227 and 2400 powders on hand and even yhink I have some of the ML bullets. I`ll give them both a try. I`ve tried the 500 for deer but it heaver than I like. Thought with the 460 I could make it a 300 yrd. gun. 1 in. at 50 would be alittle more than I`m after, but still would make 300 I guess.
