karter is a POS. Apparently an arrogent POS. Oh yeah, a commie as well.  He is the reason I have started believing that,  to serve in the presidency, an enlistment in the US armed forces of not less than four years, should be required.

Well... as an Annapolis grad & early nuke submarine officer, President Carter certainly met that requirement!

Apparently the classes in annapolis didn't take. He handled the iran fiasco like someone who had not.Reagan handled qadaffi and libya better with no service. He as well did not learn his commie outlook at annapolis.  He didn't go by "chicken of the sea" did he???

uh, Reagan served 4 years during the war.  but, being blind as a bat, he never served in combat.
I have his memoirs here but don't remember just what he did.  PR most likely.

It doesn't surprise me that he said these things about himself. This reminds me of the goofy folks that tryout for American Idol that cannot carry a tune but THEY think they are great singers. Let him think what he wants. He was an embarrassment to the Nation.

What a goof ball!

Robert

I just listened to the clip - what Carter said about his work post-presidency was reasonable. I didn't vote for Carter (RR was my first vote) and have disliked him in the past, but I think it's fair to say that he's much more active & productive as ex-Pres than other president in any of our lifetimes.

EDIT: to be fair, President Nixon was pretty busy, too, in the 80s.

i didn t vote for him..can t say i really agree with his ideas..i think he had great intentions..
i ll never forget his speech after losing the election.. something to the affect ,that ,the people had spoken ,so be it..
i fear this new pres. may not go that route.. hes just not dedicated to gov of the people, by the people ,for the people..as carter apparently is..or mabe was..

I stand corrected. I did not know that R Reagan served, as did many actors during WWII, BTW.

I did in fact forget about karter being in the submarine service. But as I stated, I doubt his commitment to his oath took, no demonstration of that by him IMO.

Reminds one of old king George III, king of England when we had our first dust-up with our "mother country". Like Carter,Old George figured he was pretty hot stuff as a leader too..
Of course, better informed people knew all along that George was running about 3 french fries short of a Happy Meal..

I watched the clip. I think, what he said, is not what he meant. It sure sounded to me like he thought he was a superior president, when he was in office. And, what I think he meant, was that his post presidential years, he has been superior, in his dealings with foriegn affairs and such. Problem is, this guy was,and still is, a complete moron, wrapped in an idiot. I wouldn't want him to build me a doghouse. Nothing but a liberal do gooder, with mush for brains. gypsyman

I hear ya, gypsy. When I had the opportunity to vote for Carter, I vote for the other guy. But I'll tell you what: you'd have more cred to call him a moron if you'd been able to graduate near the top of you class at Annapolis, get through nuke engineering school and pass muster w/Admiral Rickover, qualify for command, get elected Guv & then Pres.

but you didn't do any of those things, did you?

YT3, your right again. I didn't do any of those things. I also didn't let 50,000 aids infected, drug dealing Haitians into this country. I also didn't bend over backwards and kiss the A** of a bunch of Muslim extremeists holding American hostage's. I also wasn't in control of a govt. that had double digit inflation, and set up a govt. program called the Dept. of Energy, that has basically ate up billions of dollars, and as a country, more dependent on foreign oil than when it started. You have convinced me to re-evaulate him thou. Now, not only is he a complete moron, wrapped in an idiot, he's a nincompoop too!! Thanks for asking. ;D gypsyman

Carter,  mmmm, let's see: victim of October Surprise, good take on zionists activities cost him banker support, good religious intepretations, and foremost seems like a good human being,,,as for a president don't know.....likely no good president for God, People and the Country will ever be allowed to exist and will end up trashed.

..TM7
.

Not quite an "October surprise"..but more like a November surprise..those evil guys in head rags and long dresses knew when "the Gipper" was elected..their days for playing games were numbered..and so they were...
Unfortunately, none have stood up to those radicals the same way since.

The problem with that arrogant lil peanut farmer is that he wont go away so we can miss him. Some of the things he has said about Republican president s and this country and the way we protect ourselves doesn't endear him to me at all.

but just think about the BS we are gonna have to see and hear when that horses ass that is the president now gets turned loose in the retired pasture!  Even so I can't wait for that to happen.

Perceived intelligence and education doesn't necessarily equal good leader.  One of the best leaders I ever knew, wasn't particularly smart and wasn't well educated, but his wisdom when it came to leading was like an instinct.  Carter and the present sorry pos that thinks of himself as a leader are perfect examples of what happens when being glib is mistaken for leadership ability.  Bubba Clinton was another one of those.

YT3, it was stated in a couple posts ahead of this one. But, isn't it amazing, that for over a year, Carter danced with the Iranians, and didn't get a thing done. Reagan was in office, what was it, about a week, and the hostage's were free. HHMMM, seems that old Jimmy boy, didn't have the kahuana's to back them down. gypsyman

Let's discuss this. What should he have done? He tried to get them released, negotiated, and then launched a mission to free them. Things went to s~~t at Desert One. You call that dissing A~~?

What would you have done differently?

Needed more kahuanas, did he? Again - what should have been done? To really understand it we'd have to go all the way back to the beginning of the story in 1953... but let's just deal w/the hotage event. Seriously - what would have been the better course, in your opinion?

What Reagan did for starters, get our people OUT of that situation, immediately, with no quibbling or hesitation.  We don't negotiate with terrorists, so the only thing we can do is to REACT to what they do.  Key word being ACT.
