Talk shows
« on: September 21, 2010, 04:37:45 AM »
I hear a constant stream of complaints that the media is liberal, always tries to minimize conservatism and controls the airwaves. If that is true why are there so many successful conservative talk show hosts as compared to liberal hosts? Do you conservatives just have a driving need to hear the same thing over and over, just from different mouths? If I scan the am waves around Wichita here is what I find:
conservative talk shows:
Rush
Glenn Beck
Laura Ingraham
Sean Hannity
Mark Lavin
Lou Dobbs (but not currently)
Michale Savage
Neal Boortz
Bill O'Reilly

Liberal talk shows:
none

Looks to me that conservatives control the am airwaves anyway.

Just goes to show you that no one wants to hear that liberal crap. The concretive talk shows are on because they are successful.
But the liberals have the main stream media, which is going broke!

it is a medium that demands ratings. and if you dont get them, you are done.   and, you  can not be using current information.

Talk shows are probably the ONLY outlet for conservative news and information.  TV and public radio are mostly controled by LIBERALS.  In the 1960's when the hippies were protesting everything, their leaders realised they couldn't change conservative America the way they were doing it.  So, they were told by their liberal college professors than the only real way to change America was to get degrees in journalism, education, and law.  Journalism to make opinionated news slanted left.  Education to promote socialism and/or dumb down America from the truth of our patriotic roots.  Law, to file lawsuits to promote their ideas, like gay and womens rights, social justice, and to enter into politics.  This is in the communist handbook and also taught by Timothy Leary and such professors starting at UCal Berkley.  Some hippies were not communists, but socialists, etc.  The believed in free love, free medicine, free food, free housing, on and on.  Watch the History Channel on the Hippies.  I also have a book written in the 60's warning of these ideas and their consequences.  They starting coming to pass with Clinton and have continued further left with Obama.  Radio talk shows are the only outlet we as conservatives have.

  A VERY good analogy IMO.

Even when they do surveys as to which news channel people watch.  Fox is 50% while all the other networks combined is the other 50%.  So, that tells you something.  If the other TV networks want market share, they will have to get more conservative.

Christians are ridiculed by most networks.  Especially conservative Christians.

The TEA parties are ridiculed as being racist, etc.  I have attended TEA parties, and nothing was mentioned of race.  It was about big government, taxes two high, too many give away programs, robbing our grandchildren by strapping them with high taxes and a huge national debt, etc, etc.

Liberals lie, exaggerate, blame, especially when they don't have solutions to problems and don't want to listen to solutions by conservatives.

Most of my co-workers, and myself are getting very tired and angry of having things shoved down us that we don't want.  There will be a big conservative turn-out in this falls election.  Everyone might be surprised.

We are tired of being told Islam is peaceful when it is not.
We are tired of welfare dependents multi-generational who won't work.
We are tired of foreign aid.
We are tired of the Nannie state.
We don't want homosexuality shoved down us.  I don't care what people do in private, but don't force me to accept it or want it taught to my kids.
We don't want abortion on demand, especially late term abortions.
We don't want the government bailing out banks and car companies who can't manage themselves properly.  Let them fail.  Competitors will take over their assets and can expand their business and hire the ones laid off from the failures.
We want solutions to imported oil, like natural gas, drilling our own, and reasonable alternatives that can be implemented now.
We believe in free trade, but fair trade.  Whoever we trade with should buy equal value of goods or materials from us to keep it balanced.
We believe in low taxes to encourage people and business to invest in themselves and America.
We believe that human life is more valuable than some endangered species.  The species can be relocated if necessary so humans can use the raw materials or extend pipelines or transmission lines for human needs.

The list could go on.

The lib's tried with their Air America, and failed miserably. You still have the major news channels like NBC,CBS,ABC, and a couple cable channels,MSNBC, that like to push the liberal spin.
I personally don't watch any of them, stick to Fox. Is it a more conservative network, you betcha. I get my blood pressure up just getting the real news, probably blow a gasket if I watched Katie Curic bending over to accomidate Obama. gypsyman

Your talking about Neo-cons when you mention most of the talk shows.
What we need more of, is Libertarian (Constitutional) type programs.

Back before I was informed, I listened to such talking heads as Limblow, Shallow Sean.and Bully Billy O.
Now I detest them as much as that piece of crap C. Mathews, and the rest of the Liberal crowd..

Now I turn to the Internet to find truth in journalism. You have to be careful to even find it there ;D

If you have XM radio, Andrew Wilkow on channel 166 noon to 3 is a very good conservative show with a more constitutionalist slant than a lot of the others

why don't people listen to left wing radio ? Could it be because the left is made up from small groups with different speical interest ? How could Democrats appeal to all of them on one show ? They work best talking/lieing  to each one at a time and hoping they don't ever get togather and figure out they have been sold down the river. But they have little to worry about with the dumbing down of America and such.
Right wing talk radio birds of a feather flock togather  ;D

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

you need to listen different. These guys point out where people should look . You should make up your own mind . But its not bad to have someone looking and running up red flags. Yes alot is for ratings , so ignore that part .

Yes, I was listening to Laura Ingram today, and she was interviewing a Reagan assistant about the US - China economic relations.  He said he believes in free trade, but not at the expense of exporting our jobs.  He made some good points about China's currency being about 20% too low.  About China subsidizing their steel industry to undersell ours.  He said they can't make steel cheaper than us.  Our industry is more high tech.  China uses a lot of labor where we don't.    This economic advisor said the Obama administration is afraid of China.

Tarriffs on whatever they subsidise would help us.  If they would float their currency half our trade deficit with them would disappear.  We can stop importing oil by using ours and our natural gas to cut the rest of our trade deficit.  Then the jobs would come back home.
