« on: September 21, 2010, 11:56:42 AM »
I have a 10/22 mag with a nickel finish.this gun was worked on by a company called SSK industries in OHIO ( I have the invoice) SSk did a trigger job, shortened the barrel by 1" and tightened the head space.the gun has a hogue rubber stock, and some of the usual 10/22 minor add ons.are there any ruger addicts out there that can give me some feed back on just what i have?thanks kelly in fla

one thing you don't have is a nickle finish. the barrel is either blue or stainless steel.  the action is aluminum.
other than that, you need to shoot it some and then come back with a report.
pictures help.

The magnums came in steel --not aluminium---and never in stainless---so aftermarket nickled sounds about right.

my bad for not noticing the MAG part.  the op said the barreled was shortened. that lead me to believe it had the factory barrel on it.  I've never heard of a 10/22 with a nickle plate.   however, I know you can have things chrome plated so maybe nickle plated by a GS is feasible..

please, pictures!!!!!!!!!

bugeye sorry but i'm a newbie when it comes to posting pic's
i'll try to come up with some before the weekend cause i'm putting the gun on the "table" at the local gun show and i really haven't got a clue what to ask for it--i was  hoping for some guidance

and yes to my understanding ruger never offered this gun from the factory in anything but blue so somebody somewhere had it done.the trigger group is black.the fellow i bought it from was at least 3 times removed from the original owner

If it was mine, I wouldn't dream of selling it.  it's apparently one-of-a-kind and a 10/22 mag would be blast to shoot.

bugeye-- you're right -- i've got a 5 cent trigger finger and this gun is a (literally) tack driver--but tough times you know---i thought it may be a one of a kind but i wanted to ask around to keep from looking like a fool

I don't think you'll have any problem selling it if you go that route.
but I have no idea how you would put a dollar value on it.
