Freedom arms model 83 loading gate spring replacement

Just wondering if anyone has replaced a loading gate spring in a model 83. On occation my loading gate snaps open will firing it. I talked to John at Freedom Arms and he believes the loading gate spring is the problem. He sent me one out in the mail today and said it would save me a bunch of money if I replaced it myself and if not I could have a local gunsmith install it. Has anyone installed one before and if so could you lend a helping hand in walking me through it. Thanks

if i remember correctly you remove the right vertical screw in the grip frame  to  the rear trigger guard, the same side as the loading gate,  the screw may stick as the spring is attached to it , use twesers or a small needel nose plyers to remove assy
