Remington model 12 pump 22cal
« on: September 21, 2010, 04:07:07 PM »
I received my 1906/36  remington model 12 in 22cal that takes shorts-longs-long rifle rounds.  Its another nice little plinker/squirrel rifle for sure. The action feels a little more solid over the model 1890 dated 1913 winchester but i'm sure the winchester has many miles on it too. I may look for something in the 40's to 60's next. I'm not sure if there is an older lever action in 22cal.

AFAIK, Marlin has been making lever-action .22's since 1891.......................

I have a Remington model 12 that belonged to my father. I think he told me he bought it used about 75 years ago. Paid 2 bucks for it. Sure did kill a lot of squirrels in its day. For its age and the use it has seen it is still in pretty good shape.

Like my remington model 12 22 pump i don't really see any of these besides the older lever action 22's too.  I may have to go with a new Marlin or a Henry lever action 22.  Anyway some of these older 22's are costing more than a new one but its nice to own grandpa's winchester.  But the remington 12 caught my eye too its the only remington they had. I think trying to find some of these older rifles is like trying to find a S&W 29 in 44mag or any ruger/s&w 357mag because the orginal owners are hanging on to them. Which makes me think the older stuff i'm finding are from estate sales.
