Yes he is smart, a good historian & all of that, but I will NOT vote for him. He is corrupt & part of the problem.

I admit I don't know much about Huckabee.  I often see him on his TV show, but he never seems to be able to hold my interest so I change channels.  Now that someone mentions it yes I do remember he was governor of Arkansas.  That point is not brought up much.  And since I don't live in Arkansas I don't know what kind of job he did.

As for me last time I was really pulling for Fred Thompson.  But ole Fred just could not get it togeather.  Don't think he really wanted the job after all, so he did not put his all into it.  I think Hillery would have been a disaster, but I do believe she would have been better than Obama.

I still am of the belief that Romney is our best bet out there.  He is a little liberal for some, maybe so, I my self am not as conservative as many of you guys are.  But I'm not looking at that.  I am looking at who can turn things around and get the country back on track.  Make cuts where neccessary, expand where needed, but do things that will make things better for the country.  Sarah Palin would give it her all, and I am sure she would make improvements.  But she lacks the hardball experience needed at this point.  She played hardball and was winning.  Then she got blindsided and squashed.  She has that experience now to go on, but I still don't think she has enough yet.  I believe four or eight years under some else would prepare her for the job.  And you guys want a conservative there she is.  Personally Sarah is a bit too far right for me, but I can live with her.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Well the RNC called me and asked what to do about newt and i said sack him! but danged if they just ignored me and let him stay in office until he decided to resign.  ::)

Give me a break Dee,

Newt paid for his indiscretions,

Quote
A college professor, historian, and author, Gingrich twice ran unsuccessfully for the House before winning a seat in the election of November 1978. He was re-elected ten times, and his activism as a member of the House's Republican minority eventually enabled him to succeed Dick Cheney as House Minority Whip in 1989. As a co-author of the 1994 Contract with America, Gingrich was in the forefront of the Republican Party's dramatic success in that year's Congressional elections and subsequently was elected Speaker of the House. Gingrich's leadership in Congress was marked by opposition to many of the policies of the Clinton Administration. Shortly after the 1998 elections, when Republicans lost five seats in the House, Gingrich announced his resignation from his House seat and as Speaker.

And hell yea I voted for MCcain, the other ONLY option was not a good Idea, I thought and damned if I werent right!

This is all we need now in the White House. It is bad enough having deceitful, conniving, two face, unfaithful, do as I say not as I do politicians which describes Newt and made even more dangerous by being smart.

Being "smart" in the ways of evil is really just stupidity in disguise. Sometimes not a very good disguise either!

You "misunderestimated"  ;D  my post. In an earlier post I made the point that he was not electable as far as I was concerned.

The post  Dee made  was that we all gave him a pass. NO  "WE" did not he resigned and did not run again so i said he paid for his indiscretions. He still has no place in politics as far as I'm concerned but there are many in the same boat that are sitting in office right  now !
