Guns I would like to see made.
« on: September 23, 2010, 04:03:57 AM »
I'm a big fan of guns that are versatile. Not suited for just one type of hunting or shooting scenario. I think the Savage 24-V line of rifle/shotgun combos did well in this but had room for some improvements. Also am a big fan of rifles that shoot the same round as the pistol you might be carrying. Blue guns are good but I'm a threat to buy stainless when available. I'd like to see a rifle/shotgun combo in a choice of 357 mag, 41 mag, 44 mag or 45 LC over a choice of 20 ga or 12 ga shotgun, 20 inch or so barrel, in a stainless or other weather resistant finish. Probably be a bit pricey but it would cover a lot of bases in terms of versatility. Any of you have gun ideas that you would like to see made real ?

You are correct that the Savage 24 line was/is a very good all around gun.
It can do many things.
I have 3 of them.
A 410ga/22lr old model--20ga/22lr--but I feel the best of them is the 3" 12ga/30-30.
It can be used to do all there is with the right ammo from small game to large to self defence.
A bit heavy as a survival gun but will get the job done and ammo can be found almost anywhere.

1894 Marlin in 327mag, stainless with the grey laminate stock. Number 2 on my list would be a bullpup carbine in 10mm, suppressed, thank you.

An affordable double or over and under rifle in some 7mm to 375 caliber.  Something new for $1,500 or less.  Maybe a set of barels on a 20ga O/U frame???

All the guns i would like to see made are class 3, SBR, or AOW.   But for hunting maybe a 1911 like gun  with 454 power,  a Gepard M2A2 anti-materiel rifle in 50BMG (it the only 50cal that can be hip-fired thanks to the advanced recoil mechanism) , the  OP-SKS rilfe, a lever gun in 500 S&W.

The Ruger #3 in .30-40 Krag and produced by Remington.

The Remington 700ML set up for smokeless.

The Savage 24 is too heavy and complicated IMO.  Other than that I love them.

Millions?  I bet NOT even a fraction of that amount.  NOW, if they fix it's other problems, it would sure help to sell some.

Buy a Valmet 412, they sell for around that, and you can also get 12 and 20 ga bbls...

#1A ruger as a production chambered (not some overprice limited run) blued walnut in 250 sav,257 roberts and 308. and icying on the cake would be the same in the international #1s. The return of the original rem mountain rifles with a floor plate not a box mag in 257 and 280 and the return of the rem classic as a main line production gun. Id also like to see ruger return to the tang safey and quit spending money changing the look of there 77s and put that money into finally making a bolt gun thats accurate.  For handguns id love to see a ruger vaquero 4 5/8s blued 5 shot 480 at my house and maybe a run of accusports in 5 shot 480. Another one id jump on in a second would be the new small framed ruger in a 5 shot 44 mag. Smith could also make another run of 696s in the original stainless 3 inch configuration. I would even live with the stupid key lock.

Bolt action carbines in pistol calibers to use as suppressor hosts.

I'd like to see some more afordable double rifles too.  The 45-70 Remington had a couple years ago was OK, but only OK and now it's no longer available.  Maybe a 22lr double barrel rifle would be neat too.

357 double rifle with adjustable cross point so the range could be changed.  I bet no one else would make such a thing.
