Not going to try it this year

Having picked up my old recurve after a couple of decades, thanks to this forum, I have decided I will not try to hunt with it this year.   :(  Actually, I had thought about bringing my bow with me this weekend as I am headed to south Jawja to do a little neighborhood renewal around my deer stands, and the season is in.   ;D

I've been trying to shoot a few arrows each night when I get home from work, on the flat and from my second story deck, and while I feel I am doing fairly well, I am not positive I could put an arrow where I want it to go often enough to shoot at a live target.   :-\

BUT!  The good news is I have a goal to ... um ... shoot for ::) next year!   :D

You earned my total respect for making such a noble decision!!!!!!  Good on you and let me know if there is anything I can do over the next year to help you get ready.

I'm glad you made this decision.  I'm going to keep my yardage down this year even though I can hit an 8" circle about 75% of the time at 26 yards.  I don't want to lose an animal.

AtlLaw, That is being an ethical person. I think with your outlook & some practice you will be ready for your goal.
