In my very humble opinion, the only weakness SIG handguns have are their griping surfaces. The texture on the factory grips may look stippled, but is it smooth and the so called "checkering" on the front strap on newer models is a joke.
I've somewhat solved this by using skateboard or stepboard grip tape on the front straps, but the tape is a little too agressive for my taste when applied to the back strap and parts of the stocks. While the Hogue rubber grips work well, I just don't like the look too much.
Does nayone out there know of a maker that offers wood grips with checkeirng extenting to the backstrap?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
