     It looks a lot more polished now, two years after we saw the No. 1 prototype in your old shop. Just a suggestion, Dom, have you considered taking it to the range with powder and balls and some watermelons?  Mike and I like how easily it traverses and elevates.  Excellent safety as well, a very important feature.  Don't let any of those enemy watermelons get away to fight another day.  End their belligerency the way R. Lee Ermey would.

gulfcoastblackpowder, I have fired rounds through this on several occasions in the past.    

M&T, this is #1 prototype from a few years ago.  I made some external modifications to it.  I am working on #2 where it has an external frame and side mount trunnions like the original and the firing mechanism is internal.  #3 prototype which is in the thought process will be a breech loader with gravity fed percussion sleeves. The watermelon target is a good idea!  I guess I better do that quick as watermelon season is coming to a close.      How will pumpkins work?  

El Cazador 66,   That's a possibility in the future.  The problem is when working models get that small, they're more difficult to build.  It's in the thought stage though.   Dom

If you use a pumpkin, make sure you've carved a face on it first.

     It's hard to explain why something as seemingly simple as a cannon or even a Gatling gun would need as many prototypes as we and you have made.  I'm sure we both try to work out as many design elements as possible on paper first, but that is never perfect, changes must always be made, hence the numbers of prototypes.  Your Proto #2 sounds great; those would be significant improvements!  And #3 sounds like the Ultimate to us, without going to cartridges and all the licensing requirements that go with manufacturing and selling cartridge guns.

     Mike and I have our doubts about pumpkin enemies, however, we don't think they have enough liquid inside to respond to the hydrostatic pressure caused by a ball's entry, which would cause them give up their nefarious and truly evil thoughts, like bursting mellons do!

We will follow the development of #2 with great interest,
