Marlin Trigger Pull Wieght

I was thinking about the Wild West triggers for my Marlin 1894 in .357 mag and .44 mag.  However the trgger pull weight is 4 lbs on both.  The 366CS that has the Wild West trigger is 2 lbs.

is 4 lb pull typical on the Marlins?  I am thinking why take the trigger down to 2 lbs?

if the Marlin trigger is 4 lbs,well, you're doing pretty good. On a bench rest rifle only 2 lbs would be alright but for hunting that 4 lb trigger would serve you well.

I am looking at 4lbs as is for a hunting rifle vs spending $90 for a Wild West trigger.  For the 2lbs I am having a real hard time justifying spending the $.

If my trigger pull was 8 + I would do the trigger job.

I'v got the wild west trigger on my marlin .41 mag. and it's light, I like it but for hunting I like the heaver trigger pull of the reg. trigger.
