Only wear a glove at the range. Not while I'm hunting. When I shoot a Deer, I don't notice the recoil.

Gun that big doesnt really have enough snap to need a glove.  You can feel the recoil in your shoulder, but not so bad on your hand/wrist.

With my Ruger 454 I really considered a glove - I was determined to shoot that caliber and was thinking of how I was going to be able to pull it off.
I have seen other postings in here and other forums where shooters have said that between the heft of the hand gun and the porting of the barrel,  the 454 RB isn't too much gun for an experienced shooter to handle.

As of my first trip to the range today w my brandy new 6.5" stainless RB, I think that all I've alluded to above is true. The grip also contributes to the manageability.(how the snow did come down off the roof over the bench though!).

Does having your scope like that fog from the muzzle ports?  I mounted mine a little more forward so the bell would catch the gasses - but I actually might prefer to have in mounted back a bit for balance sake.  I guess if the gasses are going to the side enough it wouldnt make a big difference, but I just foresaw it as a problem.

You asked,,,,"Does having your scope like that fog from the muzzle ports?"

No,,,,but it does get a little powder residue after about 15-20 shots

No glove but after a few rounds I wish I had a hocky mask on from the concussion.
RIP Mike. Died on July 14th, around 2am, with his family at his side, he went peacefully to be with god.
