DOUGLAS, Ariz. - The family of a southern Arizona rancher killed by suspected illegal immigrants has been hit with more bad luck. Robert Krentz's widow was hit by a suspected drunken driver.
Sue Krentz was hit by a vehicle at about 6 p.m. Saturday in front of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Douglas. She and a friend were crossing the street when they were struck.
Krentz was airlifted to University Medical Center in Tucson, and her condition was unknown on Sunday. Her friend's name and condition were also not available.
Ramon Parra Saucedo, 74, has been arrested and charged with DUI, two counts of endangerment and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the hit-and-run crash.
Saucedo was found a short time after the collision driving away from the scene. He is being held in the Cochise County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000.
