An attack on Iran's nuclear facilities with a risk of Chernobyl. Not how much Splenda to order next month.

My that sounds wonderful and I'm not talking about the Splenda. If I were in charge I'd start talking about intelligence of "Iran getting ready to test a nuclear weapon" then I'd have a bomb sneaked in and the next headline would be " Oh my, Iran has had a nuclear accident".(Hopefully in a population center) I'm sure we would all shed a tear.  :D ;D :D ;D

After that it would be BBQ time and you all know who will be the special comic entertainment!

That's a pretty big assumption; if a nuclear event were considered a viable risk, then the levels of oversight within our existing government would be in play. However, if the President had already stated his desired end state accepted as risk a possible catastrophic event, then there would be no need for him to make that call as it was already inherent to his original decision. In this case, a nuclear event was not even a potential result. This was harassment, designed to delay. If a Chernobyl event was an acceptable risk, then cyber was the wrong tool for the job, and believe it or not, we have some pretty smart tool users in the DOD.

Do you suppose the entire US military complex is usually idling in park awaiting the next objective to spring forth?

So you prefer to believe that Israel runs the Pentagon not the CINC?

We can only hope !
