20 GA. EJECTOR DRIVE PIN LENGTH
« on: September 29, 2010, 11:14:22 AM »
My wife lost a chance at a beautiful clearing shot at a grouse when she had a stuck shell in her 20 ga. Pardner. It came home that way and I checked it out . I moved the floating drive pin manually and the shell popped out. I re-installed that empty and then couldn't get the hull to eject in any manner. The drive pin shows wear in its bluing at the ends and appears to be too short to catch on the two "ears " inside the frame. Is this an unusual thing? What kind of fixes pertain?    Thank you , Ken

It's not usual to happen, make sure it hasn't cut through the frame that holds it down when you open it, you will see how it slips under a cut out inside the frame.  The pin is usually about .760 long.  Also check to see that the smaller pin the silver ejector part pivots on isn't sheared off in the underlug.  Larry

If you mean the ejector stop pin which is a roll pin, part #8 in the owner's manual, it's ¾" long, True Value and Ace hardware sell tension pins that will work to replace it.

Just disregard my comment (except for the length) my brain was stuck on an extractor.  Larry
