Time to give a little thanks
« on: September 29, 2010, 07:46:04 PM »
As most of you know, we have a great bunch of members on GBO.
They are always willing to give or offer help where and when needed.
Well, it is my turn to pass along a little praise for someone that most if not all of us have used his expertise in one way or another.
I want to thank TIM (quickdtoo) for the work he did for me in getting my 225 Winchester barrel up & running.
He made a new ejector for it with no charge.
He also helped guide me through some finishing work that needed done in the chamber area.
I had a few ideas as to what was wrong and with Tims help was able to correct the problems in no time with little effort.
TIM, a big THANK YOU is offered here for all to see.
Like others have said, "YOU THE MAN"!!!

Of course, we all knew that!  :D ;)

Looking back, I'd say Tim, and a lot of other people are the reason this is my hangout.  Tim very recently put together a new 18 inch shortie 38-55 barrel for me.  He's done so many wonderful things for me in the past, I can't even list them here.  frgerald furnished the stock and Tim the Barrel.

Thanks guys,

Pete

You're very welcome LT, glad to help, but you gotta know being able to tinker on someone else's Handi is feeding my addiction too!!  ;D

Thanks for the thoughtful and kind words.  ;)

Nice looking Handi but I got to ask, in the pic it looks like the but stock is installed upside down.
May just be the pic or just my eyes?

I would like to say there are many great guys on this forum.  Some of you, Tim (Quicktoo), Frank (Longtom), Larry (Trotterlg), Richard (Stimpylu32) (some I'm sure I missed) are the reason I belong to this forum.  You all have been willing to answer any question and help in any way with problems newbies to the Handi world encounter.  I once was a newbie, I'm now somewhere in between the addiction and the cure ;D  I have never found in one place, online, such honesty and willingness to help others as here.  My hats off to you guys, THANK YOU!

LT,

I think Pete has started something here, like the kids with their ball caps on backwards or inside out.  I am headed to the gun room to reverse a thumbhole stock right now! ;D  We all do it Pete, I spent an hour at the range one year with a friend trying to sight in his slug gun.  We had decided it was a bad scope before one of us noticed the scope was rotated 90 degress. :P  We weren't even smart enough not to tell anybody at deer camp.

I have seen that one a time or two at the range!
Sure makes them feel like a fool when you mention that their scope is mounted wrong.

Hey Pete, I wasn't ragging you.
I just thought it might have been one of those camera oddities.
You know, like the pic of Billy the Kid being a leffty!
Thought maybe the camera had done a flip and made the butt stock appear to be upside down or something.  :D

Just today, I put a Tru-glo red dot on my 357 Max. BC and it just refused to cooperate.  Dot was double and had a reflection....totally useless - UNTIL I realized it was on backwards and I was looking through the wrong end!!!!  Good thing I didn't try to fire it that way, I might have shot myself in the eye.  Ya think??

Pete, I thought maybe you were going for the 'scant stock' (Springfield '03) semi-pistol grip idea there.
That, and maybe the low comb so as not to bite your wife's cheekbone in recoil.
