I'm kinda new to the forum, I've had a .270 handi for a couple years now that I've not taken the time to shoot, however I'd like to get her dialed in for this huntin' season, she's scoped and ready, but where to start with ammo?? I'll be hunting whitetail, and maybe black bear.
I know each gun is different, but your experiences may save me some $$, I'll be buying factory ammo. Been shooting smooth bore and rimfire  most my life, but usually bowhunt for deer, the center fire is kinda new to me.

Thanks for any info/experience

As usual, check the FAQs before asking questions, see best factory ammo in the FAQs, there are numerous recommendations for the 270, you'll have to try different types to see which yours likes.

Thanks Tim, I've done some reading in the FAQ, just not enough :-[, thanks for taking the time to point me in the right direction.

Mine shoots pretty decent with Rem-130gr.coreloks.Doesn't like the 150's too much though.Tried federals and didn't care for them either.Get 1"-1 1/2' groups at 100.Slow

I have owned at least 5 270's in a Handi and they liked Federal Fusions and Power-Shoks 130gr.
Goes to show ya though that not all like the same loads. But it's a starting point...
