Man that's nice!  I've seen some nice groups shot from some pretty bad bores.  A good cleaning with Brasso really made my 03A3 bore look good.

What year model is G'pas old rifle?

im not sure of the year model. its a winchester hi-wall. does that make it a 1895? seems like i looked it up at one time and it was made in the late 1890s or so.

Neat rifle,  Your model 1885 Winchester is one I've wanted for some time now to add to my small collection of single shot rifles.  Unfortunately, they are a might too pricey for me.

Now that is just plain COOL!
Try to look unimportant.   Your enemy might be low on ammo.
