The pictures of Park 51, unveiled by SOMA Architects, show a white building with a futuristic, honeycomb-like openings all along its façade.

The developer said the 16-story tower would contain sports and fitness facilities as well as a childcare center, culinary school and auditorium.

There was a child care center in bldg 5, all children were evacuated safely. That is the info that I have. What specific info do you have re your comment?

I visited the World Trade Center in 1994.  My daughter was in the high school band who got invited to play in the Macy's Parade.  So, here are some items I learned.  90% of the American bond market went through the World Trade Center.  Yes it did have day care facilities for workers.  It had a huge food court on ground level.  It had the top floor for observation.  50,000 people worked in them during peek daytime hours.  It took a while to get the bond market straightened out.

The Financial District in general was light on residents, and thus light on child care. What you probably would have found is what is called backup child care. Ie, employee's mother gets sick and can't watch kid, employee can bring kid to backup child care for free 10-15 days a year. it is a perk so you don't burn personal days and go to work. You often see it in a single tenant office bldg, but not a multi tenant office bldg like the towers. For the obvious reason that it is a perk for the employees of a single company. Like a gym or credit union. So Merrill Lynch or Amex probably would have had it in the World Financial Center across the street. Of course NYC has changed dramatically since 9/11 and the Financial District is now hot for families, so there is a much greater demand for local resident child care now. in fact, a huge issue is restructuring the streets, as children are now walking to local schools and having to cross 6 lane roads by themselves. Not an issue 9 years ago.

We do not need a Muslim cultural center anywhere in the US. If you want to know more about their culture you can move your to the middle east. Buy 3 tickets and I think there are a couple guys on here that would go with you that could tell you all about the muzzies and how they are mistreated on your way over there. I never claimed that Islam was a religion of peace and love.  Read my post; your reply assumes facts not in evidence (I made no reference to peace or love in my reply).  I have merely stated only that which is documented historical fact and religious tenet.  However,   I will allow you this opportunity for rebuttal.  If you can provide me with verifiable Scripture verse from the Bible or Torah on forced religious conversion or death, I will allow your position of the "religion of peace and love".    Trust me, I will check your sources.

  Since ancient Israel was a theocracy, Jew  signified a religion as well as a nationality. Certainly it is not a race, being as there are only a minimum number of racial divisions and they transcend national boundaries.
