I am tired of these pop ups. This guy for Chevy I would like to punch at this point and the ugly girl with the bow well I am just not going to go there this being a family site. They each pop up almost every time I change screens. I am here a lot and I heard oh you will only have to cancel them out 5 times a day each and then you will not see them anymore for the day. I can tell you I cancel them out 50 times a day. I love GBO and like it here but I am about at my point I can't take it!!!!! I understand the bills need paid and by having these pop ups pays the bills but I have been around here for a while now and I know I can't be the only one to think this is over the top. Just tell me can I send you $10.00 or something like that so I don't have tp see that ugly chick and that jerk that promotes Chevy any longer? I would gladly give you $10.00 to be rid of it. Boy am I glad I got that off my chest. It has bothered me for a while. I don't know about you guys but this does not stop for me and I am on here pretty much all the time if I am not at work or shooting. Thanks Dale

  I agree Dale. They are more frequent now than they were before. For some reason i don't think $10 is going to cut it. If these ads are what is keeping GB going that is good. Without them you might not have a GB site to go to. Then you would really have something to complain about. I have been around here for a while too but i have to many other things to worry about than those pop up.  Sorry about that but i hope you find some one more sympathetic than i have been.

Of all life's little annoyances those pop ups don't bother me a bit.
If that was some hot little Hooters girl in a camo bikini y'all would be trying to make the add pop up all the time.

Just close the add and the lady with the bow and Mr. Wadell will go away. If it still bothers you there's always Prozac.

Yes if it bothers you that bad you can become a subscriber. I honestly don't know if Matt has set a minimum payment to do that or not. We really don't have many subscribers and so far only one has sent a check to me the rest have done it electronically some how via either credit card or pay pal. I think doing it that way authorizes quarterly payments to be taken but just am not sure as Matt takes care of all that stuff.

He and I are also tired of them but our contract runs thru the end of this year. They won't return in January of next year.

To see them 50 times a day you must be on here at least 500 minutes per day which is a bit over 8 hours. I sorta doubt anyone spends that much time here daily. The video ads are set to show once every ten minutes so if you are moving data regularly that's how often you will see them. To see them each time you change pages you must spend ten minutes on each page before moving on.

The other pop up is supposed to show only five times per day so long as you don't delete the cookie set to let it know it's you and you've already seen your five.

Both will end on Dec. 31 and won't return again after that. I've already regretting agreeing to them but I do have a contract obligation to fulfill until the end of this year so we're stuck with them.

So if you're serious Dale you can sent me a check or do it via pay pal or credit card if you can figure out how. I have no clue how someone goes about doing that as Pete in MI asked me how he could do it and other than sending a check to me for me to give you that status I don't know how it's done.

Thanks GB I am sorry for complaining. The funny thing is if that girl was real pretty I might not mind seeing her so much. I will probably just put up with it if it is only going to be a few more months. If I did decided to subscribe though can you tell me how much it would be? Thanks Dale

To become a subscriber and not see any ads, go to your profile in the upper green menu bar, on the left in the Modify Profile section you'll see Paid Subscriptions, click that, scroll down to GBO - Subscriber, there are three different options, 3 months $25, 6 months $50 and year $100, click the Order button on the right for the option you choose.

I find the pop-ups here to be slightly less annoying than the perpetually displayed television network logos on the screen right where the game scores or some other information critical to the program being watched appears.  And there is no advertising dollars at work there, just the network sticking their logo in your face 24 hours a day.

Bought a new car once where I stipulated that the dealer's name would not be painted or pin-striped on the car prior to me taking delivery.  This stymied the dealer as he mentioned that nobody ever objected to that before.  In support of my decision, I asked him if he was willing to pay me for advertising his business as he had planned.  He laughed and thought that was an incredulous concept.  That BS didn't fly.  He finally agreed not to paint his name on my car and I then bought it.

Stillkikin:   Several yrs. ago I did the same thing, I was with GM and we would order a new Cadilac and pick the dealer who was to recieve it for pick-up I chose Prentis Cadilac in the downriver area of Detroit to be the recieving dealer and back then they would drill 2 holes in the deck lid to put their name on it I instructed the dealer not to drill the deck lid when it came in I said license plate frames would be OK so when it came in they called I went there to pick up the car and it had the name tag on the deck lid, I told them they had a nice car to sell because that wasnt what I ordered and promptly re-ordered another one and picked a different dealer to recieve it.   Jim

Powderman, The point is that thinking someone is ugly and posting it on a public forum are two different things. I see this as bullying... attacking someone because you don't like their looks. These pop ads annoy me too but calling people ugly isn't going to make them go away. Dale starts out by saying he wants to punch Michael Waddell? Geez man, take a pill!
As for the pop ups being a nuisance I agree. So are commercials every five minutes on television. They pay the bills and the actors are working to earn a living. Remember the oxyclean guy? I found him pretty annoying too. Now he is dead but the commercials are still going strong with a replacement actor. They must be making money with them.
