Thanks Everyone. I've been drawing and stuff since a kid. I was raised by my grandmother and we were poor. A coloring book was a real treat. Problem is, with coloring books, they get colored and filled fairly quick. Sooooo, I took to redrawing the pics on paper bags so I could color them again. My aunt saw me doing that and encouraged me to keep drawing. I won an art scholarship in high school but gave it up when I enlisted in my junior year. I can draw, paint, sculpt, carve and nap flint. Haven't tried scrimshaw yet but it's next on my list.
Here's one of my flint knives. The blade on this one is ancient but everything else I made. The blade is set into the handle with tree sap glue and then wrapped with sinew. The beads in the necklace are made from baked clay and dyed with vegetable dyes. The sheath is Elk hide.
Here's a few of the canes I've carved. I just use normal pocket knives. I rarely sell them. Usually I give them away to fellow veterans who need a cane to walk with. I just tell them, " Bro, you may have to walk with a cane but no reason you can't look cool doing it. Here ya go"
