I've been shooting .38's in carbines for many moons. They usually shoot very well, better than some 22's. My NEF in .357 will shoot CCI blazers into 2" at 50 yards all day long. 158 gr. lrn's seem to be the most accurate in general. I had a Rossi '92 .357 that was extremely accurate with .38's but didn't always feed them well. My marlin 1894 CP (16" .357) shoots about 2-1/2" or better at 50 yards with just about any .38 load. I just bought a marlin 1894 CBC .38 that is awsome! Clean your chamber and barrel with lead removal cloth strips over a tight fittin jag or bore brush. Don't use it on the outside of the gun, I've heard it can remove blueing, but I havn't seen any evidence of that myself. Lead flat points are good for small game. .38's are very quiet from a 20" barrel. Lots o' fun!
